Earlier this month, Untold Festival returned to Cluj-Napoca, Romania, for its fourth edition where thousands of electronic dance fans gathered for an outstanding weekend of music. The proceedings had boasted an exceptional line up from the worlds best music producers and DJs all coming together at the cities Central park with the main stage featured in the Cluj Arena. Across the weekend some 300,000+ revellers attended the music festival which was crowned ‘Best Major Festival’ during its debut edition back in 2015. Untold Festival saw breathtaking performances from the likes of Dutch legend Tiësto and Swedish star Alesso as well as many other major music producers all accumulating to a weekend of unforgettable memories.
There were plenty of unforgettable memories for a group of youth cancer survivors who were given the opportunity to meet some of their favourite music producers backstage during the Untold Festival. Charity Youth Cancer Europe organised a social media competition for its network of cancer survivors to fly out to the festival and meet DJs including Armin van Buuren, Kygo, Afrojack, and Danny Avila. Backstage the music producers met with the cancer survivors who are aged 18-26 and represented five different countries including Spain, Northern Ireland, and Poland. Afrojack was the first to meet the group backstage while Armin van Buuren took pictures with the group right before his gigantic 7-hour headlining set.
In the past, previous meet-and-greets have included the likes of Martin Garrix, Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike, and Hardwell. Spanish house and electro producer Danny Avila took to his Instagram to share a photo of the meet-and-greet, calling it ‘unbelievable’. The Youth Cancer Europe Foundation’s CEO and founder, Katie Rizvi said:
“Once again, we were lucky to secure the opportunity to invite youth cancer survivors from across the continent to meet some of their heroes at the incredible Untold Festival in Cluj-Napoca, Romania. Afrojack, Kygo, Danny Avila and Armin Van Buuren took the time to speak to each of our guests individually, take photos and sign autographs for them. These are memories that they will cherish forever and we’re always over the moon to bring these experiences to them. A huge thank you goes out from us to the DJs, as well as to the team at Untold for all their help in making this happen.”
