As the year 2018 as a whole comes to a conclusion, so does the musical world as well. As every year, fans of electronic dance music were treated with a huge amount of new music over the last 12 months, making it hard to pick the best of the best. Revealed Recordings label boss and world-renowned DJ and producer Hardwell has continued his tradition of presenting the fan favourites of each year during his radio show Hardwell On Air. As already mentioned, the amount of good EDM tracks is simply to big to be put in one single hour, so the Dutchman splits his yearmix in two parts, the first one was released yesterday.

The 30 year old DJ and producer opened his iconic radio show with his set intro for 2018, ‘Conquerors’, first heard during his performance at Ultra Music Festival in Miami. Hardwell continued by playing one of THE festival songs of the year: ‘Losing It’ by FISHER. Since he is the owner of Revealed Recordings, he also constantly uses his radio show to promote the new tracks of his signed artists. And, of course, the Revealed artists contributed heavily to this year’s music and therefore were also present in Hardwell’s first yearmix. Maddix’ banger ‘Shuttin It Down’ together with singer Kris Kiss and Olly James’ and KURA’s hard trap hit ‘Fuego’ were part of the Revealed line up of the mix. The collab from Hexagon boss Don Diablo together with Zonderling, ‘No Good’ fuelled the needs of Future House lovers.

One of Hardwell’s closest friends is fellow Dutchman and Trance legend Armin Van Buuren. The Sunnery James & Ryan Marciano remix of his summer track ‘Sex, Love & Water’ also found its place in the HOA yearmix part 1. Other tracks played were Hardwell’s own tracks ‘Shine A Light’ and his edit of Dada Life’s ‘Do It Till Your Face Hurts’ as well as KSHMR’s melodic track ‘Carry Me Home’ and The Chainsmokers’ hit single ‘Everybody Hates Me’.

Luckily, this was only the first part of the 2018 yearmix, so we can expect more greatness next week. But for now, sit back, relax and rewind with some of the best songs of 2018!
