Swedish legend Avicii has been honoured at the Grammisgalan in his native Stockholm. The Grammisgalan, the Swedish equivalent of the Grammys, honour musicians in every category, and this year, a segment of the awards show was dedicated to the memory of the late, great, Tim Bergling (aka Avicii) who passed away in April 2018.
Receiving the award on Avicii’s behalf, Klas Bergling, Tim’s father, told the crowd:
“Tim was a friendly person with humour. He was humble, but also stubborn as sin. When it came to music, he was obsessed – always looking to reach the optimum level he imagined. It could be demanding for many who worked with him. But he was a shy person who never wanted to be the centre of attention and had a tough time with his fame. He felt this need to withdraw from that lifestyle, to find peace, and to just find himself – Which is something we can all probably relate to.”
