Family of Avicii create Tim Bergling Foundation

Tim Bergling was a person who made a momentous change in the music industry, from his chart topping tracks to his charitable efforts. Wanting to make a difference everywhere he went, he donated millions of his earnings over the years to charities such as HIV charity (RED), Swedish charity Radiohjalpen and even created a nonprofit named House for Hunger which ultimately donated the entire $1 million earnings to Feeding America after raising the money through a 25-date tour. After a long career of giving back to the world, it seems extremely fitting for a foundation to be named after him.

The Tim Bergling Foundation – created by his family members – aims to initially focus on working with and supporting people who are working in the field of mental illness and suicide prevention with further plans to branch out into the areas of climate change, nature conservation, development assistance and endangered species. The foundation will debut on April 20th on the one year anniversary of Tim’s passing, helping to keep his memory alive by giving back to people in need.

Speaking in a press release, his family opened up about the foundation;

“Tim wanted to make a difference- starting a foundation in his name is our way to honor his memory and continue to act in his spirit.”
