Belgian News Media is reporting that an evacuation took place at around 1pm this afternoon at Tomorrowland Winter to help a group of around 250 people on a mountain following blizzards enforced by a snowstorm on the Alps. Party goers were transported down via snow scooters due to the closure of ski lifts.

The first ever Tomorrowland Winter festival is taking place over the course of this week at the popular ski resort, with a range of the finest electronic talent  – including Steve Aoki, Armin van Buuren, and Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike – set to perform over the next few days.

Tomorrowland will keep a close eye on the weather overnight, though the festival believes that all activities should go ahead tomorrow as planned despite these circumstances. A spokesperson from the festival added that:

“The evacuation was a normal situation in a ski resort. In the afternoon, lifts were closed because of the wind. Some of our festival goers, crew, and artists that panned to take lifts from the bars to the resort were bought back by snow cars.”

You can catch a video of today’s evacuation below, with attendees now looking forward to the coming days of partying at the festival!
