Stadiumx & Taylr Renee’s ‘Howl At The Moon’ turns 5 years old

Back in 2014 the peak of EDM’s explosion was still sweeping over the world, and at the forefront was the likes of Nicky Romero and his Protocol imprint. The massive popularity of the Dutch outfit (both the producer and the label) was bolstered thanks to tracks such as Howl At The Moon, the work of Stadiumx and Taylr Renee, which turns 5 years this month.

The big uplifting lead had everything you’d want from a mainstage anthem, and it was given a boost thanks to the vocals of Taylr herself. It epitomised everything that was big about Protocol and the way the label had a knack of picking up big tracks from relatively unknown producers, giving them a chance to show their wares to the world. It also gave Romero himself a platform to spread the Protocol sound to all four corners of the globe, taking on stadiums and festivals that saw him become one of the leading lights of the scene.

5 years on, it still sounds fresh, and the Protocol label continues to provide heavy-hitting EDM anthems that keep the genre at the forefront of dance music. Romero is still keeping up the relentless touring schedule, while Stadiumx maintain a close relationship with Protocol, with their remix of David Guetta and Nicky Romero’s Ring The Alarm released on the label just this week.
