David Guetta is a whirlwind of talent that won’t stop moving. Listing the amount of momentous achievements he has reached in his career so far would be almost impossible to do, but his rising count of over 36 million monthly listeners on Spotify help us do the talking. His style of commercial dance-pop has been capturing hearts all across the world for years on end now, but Guetta decided it was time to switch it all up with fresh alias Jack Back. Returning to his underground roots, Guetta decided it was time to tap back into the side of his musical ability that creates pure house goodness and Jack Back was born.
Striking up a relationship with Mark Knight lead tech-house record label Toolroom Records, Jack Back released a string of hypnotizing tracks with the label and seemed to have found a comfortable home there following the release of ‘Grenade’ which – interestingly enough – has both of Guetta’s stage names listed as producers.
Toolroom Records has a long-standing relationship with the party island of Ibiza, and when excitingly unveiling the anticipated residency – hosted at Eden – for 2019, one name instantly stood out. Making his Toolroom Ibiza debut, Jack Back took to the stage during a B2B set with none other than Mark Knight. Joined by an all-star lineup of ATFC, Eli Brown, Maxinne, Secondcity and Wheats, the set was considered one of the ‘defining sets of the season’, proving that David Guetta absolutely delivered spectacularly on his debut performance with Toolroom.
