Menacekeys – Don’t Let Me Go
American songwriter, multi-instrumentalist and DJ Menacekeys has been one of the names who have been on the upturn in recent times. With a number of remixes and a bunch of productions already to his credit, 2019 has seen the Las Vegas based producer release two sumptuous originals – ‘SMS‘ and ‘Don’t Let Me Go’. Both self-released, Menacekeys released ‘SMS’ in April. A sturdy first original, the track was a rough-going house production with heavily distorted bass to its benefit. While ‘SMS’ marked his maturity and adeptness behind the production desk, ‘Don’t Let Me Go’ goes a step further to flaunt a well-crafted and more upbeat production.
Released along with an official video that documents the budding producer’s love for travelling the world, ‘Don’t Let Me Go’ takes a divergent path from its predecessor as it employs an addictive melody and infectious vocal chops – oftentimes with a tweaked pitch – which immediately birth it into a build-up. But the real magic of the track lies in its charming ‘drop’ as it drops a stellar, well-patterned beat-work that is bound to take clubs and festivals by storm. Although he is already a global tourist, it is surely not a tough claim to argue that ‘Don’t Let Me Go’ might just be the track which opens up even greater horizons and opportunities for Menacekeys – to make his music travel further than himself.
