Basto – Somehow Happy

Since being welcomed back into the music industry with open arms after announcing his return from retirement, Basto has once again created a huge buzz around his name and it’s like he never retired at all. Partly responsible for the huge surge in EDM in 2010-2013, his tracks such as ‘Gregory’s Theme’ and ‘Again & Again’ were hugely influential for many other producers, even inspiring them to start producing themselves. After posting to socials with the caption ‘So much for retirement I guess… #staytuned #bastoisback’, his popularity rose to new levels with new releases being churned out and now he’s back to make our ears happy once again with uplifting sounds.

It’s easy to tell just from the name that ‘Somehow Happy’ will be a light, feel-good anthem and that’s exactly what it is. Packed full of the vibrant Basto sound that we all came to know and love dearly, this track is a sweet nostalgia trip back to those early years when he displayed himself at the very front of the industry, and it seems like he’s doing that again.
