Ahh, the ‘golden era’… Remember those days? Axtone, unlike many labels, is one imprint that has truly stood the test of time during this past decade or so, with top quality music being churned out regularly by Axwell’s record company, as recent tracks from the likes of Redfield, Chocolate Puma, and Brohug have helped to keep the label still hugely relevant in the landscape of the modern music climate.

But with many labels now jumping ship to suit the trends of the unstoppable rise of tech-house, Axtone has always stayed true to lovers of progressive house, and on this day in 2011, the label launched one of their biggest anthems of all time. ‘Blow Up’ by Hard Rock Sofa (a name highly familiar with fans of the sub-genre around this time), was later remixed by Thomas Gold & Axwell himself, and an instant classic was born! Used in sets from many of the biggest producers and DJs at the time, including Calvin Harris, Dirty South, Matisse & Sadko, and Swedish House Mafia themselves, ‘Blow Up’ really blew up, and was undoubtedly one of 2011’s finest, and most successful hits.

Though Axwell & Thomas Gold iconic remix now turns 9 years old today, quality music stays timeless forever and that’s definitely the case with this one! Check it out below as we take a trip down nostalgia avenue together.
