If you have a big platform, it’s always important to use that platform for good and to spread awareness about current world issues or help those less fortunate. One artist that has taken this into consideration lately is Patrick Nazemi. Currently holding down multiple popular residencies around Europe (including the party isle of Ibiza), Nazemi is a phenomenon who has found himself DJing for other well-respected artists as well as some of the UK’s biggest festivals (Glastonbury, anyone?) and now he’s setting a brilliant example for the other artists in the community.

Taking to his socials, Patrick Nazemi has announced that instead of having the usual food and drink on his hospitality rider at shows or festivals, he wants nothing more than for a £50 donation to be made to Mind. Mind is a British-based charity that focuses on helping people with mental health issues and aims to raise awareness and promote clear understanding of these serious issues.

Nazemi’s rider reads as follows:

For 2020, rather than asking for money to be spent on drinks and food, we kindly request that you make a £50 donation to Mind, the mental health charity. (The £50 figure was decided based on the cost of Patrick’s usual hospitality rider.)

Please share the screenshot or receipt of your donation either in the dressing room or email it to: [email protected] with the subject “Patrick Nazemi Hospitality”.

The total amount raised for 2020 will be announced at the end of the year.

Thank you for being a part of this idea.

More artists can learn from the applaudable actions that Patrick Nazemi has taken to ensure that money is not wasted but rather given to people who need it more right now. Aiming to ‘drink less and give more’, this is a perfect new year’s resolution. You can read the post in full below.
