Tomorrowland 2022

Tomorrowland Unplugged: A look into the acoustic performances at the festival

As we are only a few days away from the first weekend of Tomorrowland 2023, there are so many things to experience but one that is almost more unique than the rest is the acoustic performances of Tomorrowland.

Tomorrowland is known for providing some of the most memorable moments in dance music history. As thousands make their way to Belgium to witness some of the greatest DJs, there is also a side of Tomorrowland 2023 that does not include the power of the CDJs, and that is the acoustic side. Now it doesn’t happen often. As a matter of fact, it usually only happens with one specific performance. However, it is a can’t-miss opportunity. That is, in fact, Tomorrowland’s ‘Symphony of Unity.’

First premiered in 2015 and returning in 2019, this unique acoustic performance quickly became a fan favorite. Ditching the decks and DJs for an entire symphony of musicians and their traditional instruments, it is a place, as Tomorrowland likes to say, “where classical and electronic music become one.” For any of those who are lucky enough to attend this year’s edition, you must think heavily about attending if not at all, at least some of this once-in-a-lifetime show. The performance’s purpose is to pay homage to the great tracks of electronic music that have defined the genre throughout the years. Tracks such as Eric Prydz’s ‘Opus,’ Avicii’s ‘Levels,’ Paul van Dyk’s ‘For An Angel,’ and, of course, the ‘Tomorrowland Hymn’ written by Hans Zimmer all get an orchestral treatment, unlike anything you have seen before.

With performances taking place during both weekends, there is a chance you will walk away from Tomorrowland 2023 with this possibly your favorite part of the entire festival. If you find yourself needing a change of scenery or sound or just want to experience something entirely new, consider this show as it will certainly be worth your time.

Catch the ‘Symphony of Unity’ at Tomorrowland 2023 on the Atmosphere Stage during both weekends starting at 4:00 pm CEST. View the full schedule here.

Hey everyone! I was blessed to have the opportunity to join the WRY team in 2020. I edit WRY's Youtube content and am also a writer for the website. I have been a massive fan in the EDM scene for over ten years and have been fortunate enough to see some iconic moments in person. Some of my favorite artists are Avicii, Martin Garrix, Krewella, The Chainsmokers, and Illenium. I absolutely love to attend live shows. I try to spend almost every week at some kind of live event or festival (if not in person, at least watching online). And its a guarantee you can always catch me at Ultra Miami every year! Thank you for all the support! Follow me on Twitter to see which show I will be at next! Hopefully I can see you at an event or festival soon! Inquiries can be sent to creighton@weraveyou.com
