“French Touch” duo Polo & Pan released their latest EP, “Carrossel Do Tempo.” This project features four captivating tracks that showcase the duo’s willingness to embrace musical inspirations from around the world. The EP is now available via Ekleroshock/Hamburger/Virgin Music.

The EP takes listeners on a musical journey. It kicks off with the regal trumpets of the title track, “Carrossel Do Tempo,” introducing the silky, enchanting vocals of the enigmatic Brazilian artist Abrão. “Chamallow” offers an introspective yet joyful exploration of French pop, delving into themes of love and family. “Charanga” transports listeners to a nocturnal jungle rave in South America, with a playful and mysterious ambiance. Finally, the EP concludes with “Nagori,” a breezy, toe-tapping pop gem that conjures images of relaxed poolside gatherings as the late summer sun dips below the horizon. The title itself, “Nagori,” references the Japanese concept of transient melancholy felt as a fleeting moment nears its end, a feeling that washes over you as the record concludes.

Carrossel Do Tempo” was crafted and recorded across the globe, featuring an expanding cast of collaborators and elevated production value. Polo & Pan skillfully merge diverse cultural influences and bring together exceptional collaborators. The arrangements and strings for the EP were overseen by the LA-based Italian composer Daniele Luppi, known for his work with artists like Danger Mouse, John Legend, Gnarls Barkley, and the Red Hot Chili Peppers. These arrangements evoke the grandeur of classic Hollywood movie soundtracks.

Hailed as “funky but suave, uniquely fun, and evoking a fantasy of European nightlife” by the New Yorker and described as a “dually breezy and psychedelic strain of French Touch” by Billboard, Polo & Pan have graced stages at renowned festivals such as Coachella and Lollapalooza. Their previous albums have achieved Gold status in France and abroad, and they have garnered over 3 million monthly listeners on Spotify alone.

Polo & Pan‘s musical journey began with their 2013 EP “Rivolta,” marked by its prescient and infectious sound. Over the years, they meticulously honed their craft, with each release expanding their musical universe and solidifying their reputation. Their 2017 debut album, “Caravelle,” propelled them to international recognition, and they have since become synonymous with sun-kissed whimsy and irresistible grooves. In 2021, “Cyclorama” showcased Polo & Pan‘s matured hedonism, finely tuned sounds, and expanded creative horizons.

While Polo & Pan‘s music is essential for any rooftop or beachside gathering, it’s their live performances that truly elevate them. Dressed in linen suits, they deliver captivating theatrics, complete with swaying palm trees, enchanting vocalists, and even the evocative sounds of the pan flute. The Polo & Pan live experience infuses their music with a vibrant energy that is a sight to behold. Attend one of their shows, whether it’s a sold-out US tour or a major festival performance, and you’ll witness smiles, genuine joy, and a shared sense of celebration among the audience. This, above all else, is what makes Polo & Pan truly remarkable.

Following a series of remixes and collaborations earlier in the year, “Carrossel Do Tempo” arrives on the heels of a limited run of US performances at California festivals, including Same Same But Different in Lake Perris and Portola Festival in San Francisco this Fall.
