Nicole Moudaber & Chris Liebing drop new techno EP, ‘I Will Be A Devil Until I Am An Angel’: Listen

In a dynamic collaboration that transcends their longstanding connection, techno icons Nicole Moudaber and Chris Liebing join forces for an electrifying joint EP titled ‘I Will Be A Devil Until I Am An Angel.’ Venturing beyond Moudaber’s MOOD imprint, which witnessed Liebing’s remix prowess last year, the duo now delivers a sonic manifesto under Liebing’s celebrated CLR imprint, set to captivate audiences this November.

The EP kicks off with the pulsating beats of ‘Watch Me Choose You,’ an immersive track that weaves a tapestry of clap-heavy grooves, punctuated by futuristic bleeps and hypnotic squelches. A subtle, serpentine acid-line entwines itself amid the robust drum foundation, creating a high-intensity, peak-time experience. Following suit is ‘When You Are Near,’ another dancefloor detonation where bursts of acid cascade over cavernous kick drums. The track culminates in a mind-melting frenzy at its midpoint, unleashing an irresistible sonic assault.

Chris Liebing reflects on the collaboration, noting the deep connection forged with Nicole over the years. Having shared the stage in memorable back-to-back sets and remixed each other’s work with satisfaction, the duo’s joint original release was an inevitable evolution. Liebing expresses, “It’s the result of our individual DJ and production styles and what we feel has the most impact on the dancefloor.”

Nicole Moudaber, reminiscing about her introduction to Liebing’s music in the mid-2000s, recounts the transformative experience on the dance floor at Space Ibiza. Fast forward to 2016, and she finds herself regularly playing back-to-back with him worldwide. Moudaber highlights the profound resonance she feels with Liebing’s sound, describing it as capable of inducing a trance. With the culmination of their studio collaboration in this EP, Moudaber emphasizes that it represents their collective creative and musical tastes. Having undergone rigorous testing in clubs and festivals, the duo eagerly anticipates the audience’s reception, with Moudaber exclaiming, “We hope you enjoy it as much as we do – mamma mia is all I can say.”
