After his big debut on Afterlife in 2022, Massano makes his long-awaited return to the Tale Of Us label with a brand new, captivating new EP. ‘Shut Down’ is a return but also a beginning, showing the artist’s clear sonic evolution. The two-tracker is now available on the usual streaming and download platforms, via Afterlife.

It’s the end of 2023 and Massano needs no introduction. Raised on fertile musical soil, the Liverpool artist has been turning heads since his inception. Although Massano initially thought that music was more of a hobby than a job, the truth is that the industry has taken him very seriously from day one. His refreshing sonority gives him the potential to work freely with his concepts. Massano has been on the hot list in the realm of melodic house and techno, but the truth is that still in his early twenties, he represents a new musical genre in itself. Last year’s ‘Human Aura’ was a track that was in high rotation on the decks of the most respected artists. In terms of labels, you can find Massano’s work on UPPERGROUND, Radikon, Drumcode and Afterlife, where he now returns with ‘Shut Down’.

The title track is a real gem. It’s steeped in Massano’s signature sounds. Elastic, expansive and explosive sounds whose reverb seems to go beyond the stratosphere. It’s a spacey track, full of exciting elements and meticulously constructed. The game of tension is exquisite, displaying invigorating breakdowns. It’s one to dance to, absorb and enjoy, in Massano’s progressive, riding style.

‘Cybernova’ has a very different but equally brilliant flavour. More melodic, the flip side of this EP has all the makings of a perfect club track. Less expansive but just as strong, ‘Cybernova’ has an elegant soundscape and a passionate bassline. It has an extremely hypnotic character, drawing on minimal and undulating lines.
