Justice began new album rollout with release of ‘Generator’: Listen

With the recent announcement that their new album, Hyperdrama, is on the way, fans of Justice are reaching peak excitement for new music. Ahead of the release, the French duo has shared two brand-new singles to get fans hyped.

Much like their French counterparts in Daft Punk, Gaspard Augé and Xavier de Rosnay of Justice have revealed themselves to be pioneers and leaders of the genre while often blazing their own trail and disregarding industry norms and other publicity-seeking actions in maintaining their role in the music scene. Now that Hyperdrama is officially on the way, the industry as well as fans around the world will be on pins and needles awaiting the album’s April 26th release date. The duo was kind enough to share not one but two new singles from the album to officially kick off the rollout. Alongside the lead single, One Night/All Night, the duo have also shared Generator to further push the hype train forward.

While the former single showcases a more laidback style, further felt by the addition of Tame Impala to the production, Generator is a more dance-floor-driven single. Shaped by a flurry of cymbals and percussion, the pulsing synths are a clear reminder of what makes Justice so special in the studio. The funky bass line grooves along, demanding listeners move to the music, both harking back to the disco era of yesteryear while still feeling fresh and futuristic. As the track approaches the final minute, a quiet interlude comes through, giving the dancefloor a short respite to catch its breath and grab a drink of water but the track comes back in full force.

With three months to go until Hyperdrama is released, Generator is another great release in the storied discography of Justice.
