In February, NASA’s Kennedy Space Center will be home to an after-hours “techno party”.

Space, techno, and costumes? This is sure to be a voyage not to be missed! The event, called “Kennedy Under the Stars”, will take place on 2 February at the US Space Center’s research center. The venue will be transformed into a truly galactic rave party, with energetic DJ sets to make it unique.

Alongside the attraction, veteran NASA astronauts Chris Ferguson and Nicole Stott will be on board. Attendees will also have access to the Spaceport KSC and Gateway: the Deep Space Launch Complex with shorter waiting times. There will also be close-up visits to, for example, the space shuttle Atlantis or a SpaceX Falcon 9 booster. There will be no shortage of food, drinks and of course cocktails, and annual passholders will benefit from 30% savings on retail items.

The rave party will be from 06:30 PM until 9:30 PM. This includes access to the Cosmic Glow Miniature Golf, bar, and lounge areas. The tickets are available for all ages for $65 (plus tax). According to the official announcement of the event, you can also go in a space-themed costume to enhance the atmosphere. The only restrictions for safety reasons are that the face must not be covered and that items resembling weapons are prohibited. More information and tickets are available for purchase on the official Kennedy Space Center website.

A few days ago NASA delayed 2 Artemis programs, with it, moving the flagship Artemis 2 from November 2024 to September 2025. On the former, they cited safety reasons, “Safety is our top priority”, said Bill Nelson, a NASA Administrator. Also of interest from a musical point of view, based on a research project since 2020, NASA finally utilizes the sound of the solar system to create music.
