Raquel unveils debut album ‘Wishing on Stars’: Listen

“I was able to release Wishing On Stars within just a few months of being an artist in the music industry, so it’s definitely a project that I’m proud of,” says Raquel on releasing her debut album.

Although just at the start of her artistic journey, Raquel is looking to start it off with a bang. Looking to show the world who she is, she has unveiled her debut album ‘Wishing on Stars,’ and ambitious and bold project that encapsulates everything that Raquel is. After emerging as a successful and professional pianist where she has composed well over 50 original pieces, her career switch has now brought her here.

“I was able to release Wishing On Stars within just a few months of being an artist in the music industry, so it’s definitely a project that I’m proud of! There’s some really talented artists featured on the album as well, so it was a really fun project to work on.

When I songwrite, I tend to tap into my inner emotions. I’m someone who looks at the stars at night; someone who loves the moon, sunsets, the ocean, lightning, thunder, and stormy skies. I love to reference these elements of nature into my songwriting. When I write, I like to create imagery of beautiful things, and to me, nature and space are compelling and beautiful. Space and nature are my muse, so, from them I love to create art.”

This project has allowed Raquel to open up her feelings to the world, which is evident already through the opening title track in collaboration with 11:11, Jaegen and Ante O’Connor. From there we are taken on an astrological journey through the stars and into Raquel’s mind, with her solo tracks ‘Make You Mine,’ ‘Dreamland‘ and Kofi collaboration ‘Angel‘ and TVGUCCI collaboration ‘With You‘. Each track is representative of her different talents, each with a completely different vibe whilst feeling coherent when listened to in full. Being lifted up into the stars, ‘Last Goodbyes‘ is the ultimate culmination of this dreamy journey, making fans and new listeners alike feel like they never want it to end. ‘Wishing On Stars’ has shown, in Raquel’s words, that “it’s okay to love sunsets and rain; it’s okay to look up at the stars at night with a sense of wonder; that it’s okay to be vulnerable in love.” An overall addictive fusion of rnb, pop and electronic that is both equally radio friendly as it is club-ready, Raquel is giving listeners anthems to sing along to whilst dancing and feeling the emotion in the lyrics and melodies. If anything, this has solidified her place as a true rising star, and she is one to be taken seriously as we head into 2024. Get ready to hear her name more and more.
