Iconic drum and bass duo Chase & Status have been awarded the title of Best Producer at the Brit Awards.

The drum and bass duo Chase & Status have won the best producer award at the Brit Awards, beating out contenders such as Adele, Ed Sheeran and Dua Lipa. The band, who are celebrating their 21st anniversary, will also perform with best dance act nominee Becky Hill at the Brits ceremony on Saturday.

Commenting on their best producer trophy, the band said: “We couldn’t be more proud – we’ve been flying the flag for British music now for a long time, we’re super proud of all the music that has come out of the UK.”

Chase & Status are known for their collaborations with artists such as Rihanna, Plan B and Emeli Sandé, as well as their own hits such as Blind Faith, End Credits and Count On Me. They have also been influential in the UK underground music scene, launching their own label MTA Records and supporting emerging talent.

The Brit Awards, which are voted by music industry experts and fans, will honour the best of British and international music from the past year. The ceremony, hosted by comedian Jack Whitehall, will feature performances from Coldplay, Olivia Rodrigo, The Weeknd and Little Mix, among others.

The most nominated artists this year are Dua Lipa and Arlo Parks, who have four nods each, followed by Celeste, AJ Tracey and Joel Corry, who have three each. The winners of the best British album, best British single and best international group categories will be announced on the night.

The Brit Awards will also pay tribute to the late singer-songwriter Amy Winehouse, who will be inducted into the Brits Hall of Fame, a new award that recognises artists who have made an exceptional contribution to British music. Winehouse, who died in 2011, won five Brit Awards in her career, including best British female solo artist twice.

The Brit Awards will take place at the O2 Arena in London on Saturday, March 10, and will be broadcast live on ITV and BBC Radio 1.
