Jack Back releases an Afro House remix for Dennis Ferrer’s 2009 classic “Hey Hey” on Defected Records
Pierre David Guetta’s musical alter ego Jack Back releases an Afro House remix for Dennis Ferrer’s 2009 classic “Hey Hey” on Defected Records.
Pierre David Guetta, or simply David Guetta as he is known by his main alias, is now back with his House-focused alter ego for a new remix. The Jack Back alias, the main idea behind which was to take Guetta back to the days when he started. He’s had several years of existence under this name, with several releases under House and sub-genres of it. To celebrate its 25th anniversary, Defected Records is celebrating in a variety of ways, presenting music from both old and new artists. One of the big attractions is the celebration of Dennis Ferrer, one of Defected’s OG artists. Dennis Ferrer‘s 2009 smash hit “Hey Hey” is accompanied by an EP called “Hey Hey Remixes”. “Hey Hey” thus received two Afro House remixes, one by Da Capo & Kitty Amor and one by Jack Back.
Based on the great SHINGAI‘s vocals, the Afro House remix turns the base tune into an energetic mix. Composed at 122 BPM, the beats create a truly club-focused song. No doubt about it, Guetta’s knack for House genres is outstanding and it’s clear that Afro House is not far from his mind. The Jack Back alias, is a recurring attraction on Defected, having released several remixes and singles over the years, just like ‘Feeling’. Jack Back was most recently featured on The Case (episode 052), hosted by US-based dynamic techno/house DJ and producer Cody Chase.
To sum up, this Afro House release by Jack Back has become a justly respectful remix for a small part of Defected’s 25th-anniversary celebrations.
