The rise of dance music has allowed more and more artists to experiment with blending genres and sounds as they look to leave their mark on the industry. The Italian duo, NoTwins has made their name through the combination of House, Latin House, and Tech House productions.

Having burst onto the scene in 2020, NoTwins wasted no time garnering attention from across the industry through their high-profile label releases and collaborations. Armed with more experience and further work on honing their craft, Raffaele and Alfonso, the men behind the music, are quickly following up on their January release of Fazer alongside Alaia & Gallo and MC Negra Nelly by dropping their first solo work of the year. Building upon their blurring of Tech House and Latin House influences, their new release Abusadora is both driving and hypnotic.

Beginning with a steady layer of percussion and hand drums, a female vocal opens the track, repeating the opening phrase as the duo of NoTwins experiment with reverb and other effects to provide ambiance and atmosphere from the opening measure. Following the intro, the kick and snare provide the pulsing rhythm as the percussion continues with subtle flares and interruptions to add character to each measure. NoTwins opts to empty the track for a measure or two, allowing the bare-bones percussion to carry it before bringing the vocal in before all the elements come together for the big finish.

In their still young career, NoTwins has shown a mastery of their sound and style as they continue to forge ahead and pave their path in the electronic music landscape. Check out Abusadora available now via Story Starters.
