Home News Orbital drops limited edition ‘Chime’: Reviving dance music history

Orbital has just dropped an exclusive limited edition release of their iconic track ‘Chime‘, marking the beginning of their ‘Orbital LEDs‘ series. This series features fully remastered versions of the duo’s original 12” EPs, each adorned with brand new artwork crafted by Julian House. ‘Chime‘, accompanied by ‘Deeper‘ as its B-Side, originally debuted in 1989, propelling the Hartnoll brothers from the depths of underground raves to international stardom. Recognized as a seminal dance anthem, ‘Chime‘ secured its place at #11 on Mixmag’s 100 Greatest Dance Songs Of All Time and reshaped public perceptions of dance music, according to The Guardian.

Orbital: The Legacy Continues

Available now on 12” black 140gsm vinyl, limited to just 1000 copies, ‘Chime‘ offers enthusiasts a chance to own a piece of dance music history. Additionally, an exclusive T-Shirt designed by Julian House is up for grabs for a limited one-week period. Alongside this exciting release, Orbital presents their latest single, ‘Tonight In Belfast‘, featuring David Holmes, DJ Helen, and Mike Garry. Described by Billboard as “spatial, joyful, and often delightfully strange,” this track is a fresh reinterpretation of their 1991 classic ‘Belfast‘.

Further electrifying news awaits fans as Orbital‘s seminal 1991 debut album, ‘The Green Album‘, is set for reissue on April 19th. Available for pre-order here in various formats, including a 4LP Box Set and 2CD edition, this release coincides with Orbital‘s upcoming tour. Dubbed ‘The Green + Brown Album Tour‘, it kicks off in New York on March 22nd, followed by Chicago on March 23rd, and a stellar lineup at Miami’s Ultra Music Festival on March 24th. Orbital will then grace the stage at Coachella Festival on April 13th and 20th before returning to the UK for the final leg of the tour.

Since reuniting with London Records, Orbital has been on a creative spree, culminating in their critically acclaimed studio album ‘Optical Delusion‘. This resurgence has seen them reclaiming the charts, with their latest album marking their first UK Album Chart Top 10 entry since 1999’s ‘Middle Of Nowhere’.
