PRATTO: Finding ‘A Place’ within the music industry [Interview]

Home Interviews PRATTO: Finding ‘A Place’ within the music industry [Interview]

I hope my music will inspire people from all over the world to keep dancing and share happiness and love with everyone around them,” says PRATTO.

Congratulations on the recent release of ‘A Place’! Can you talk to us about the inspirations behind this track?

This record is totally inspired by Swedish House Mafia. The energy they invoke as a group is like a massive wave of great vibes. They were able to reach that level of music madness and break the ceiling of DJ/producer possibilities. They sold out Madison Square Garden in Ten minutes, which was unheard of for a DJ or DJ group.”

What was the creation process like for the single, and what message or emotion did you want to convey with it?

“‘A Place’ is the Instrumental version to the upcoming vocal version titled ‘Find A Place’ that will be released soon. When you know what you love about a record, it makes it very helpful in providing direction to the vocalist. Mariami, who is the very talented vocalist on the upcoming release ‘Find A Place’, nailed the direction and emotion we were looking for. Her vocals are very ethereal and she carries you in the record.”

Going back to inspirations, what would you say is the main source of inspiration when it came to finding your signature sound?

“I wish I could say I had a signature sound, but I think it will take some musical soul searching to figure out the type of footprint I will leave on the music world. I am so inspired and blown away by so many amazingly talented artists in this world. I feel super happy when I find a person, an undiscovered talent, that is waiting to jump into a project that they feel passionate about. I look forward to many more collaborations and will continue to look for as many talented artists as I can in order to continue making music. I just love music, in all its forms, and I cannot imagine my life without it.”

What were your musical beginnings? What made you want to pursue a career in production?

“This is a very personal story, but here it is…

One of my best friends passed away during the COVID pandemic. When we were younger, we always talked about producing and releasing his music together. His name was Kris Stefanson. He was a very talented singer, and he had so much soul. A few weeks before he passed, we were in the process of building that dream. We started developing some new song ideas. Kris was very passionate, and he also endured some of the most difficult circumstances a person could ever bear. Throughout all the tragedies he experienced in his life, he always turned to music to pull him through and share his emotions. He would tell me of how he has always dreamed of sharing his music with the world. During one of our very last conversations over FaceTime, he was singing one of his songs to me. The lyrics were incredibly inspiring, and memorable. His young son was in the background of the call and was also singing along with him. I could see the pride and fulfilment in Kris’ eyes, having his son sing beside him. We never had a chance to work on that song and we never recorded the vocals. When he passed away, I decided to try and keep my promise to him, and continue sharing music with the world.

In short, my music journey is a promise to my close friend and brother! We miss you Kris!”

How would you describe the PRATTO sound for someone who may not know about it?

“PRATTO is a music lover of all genres!  However, I have decided that the EDM and progressive house genres are what I am most passionate about. I love music festivals, and the unity and energy you find in the EDM world. I hope my music will inspire people from all over the world to keep dancing and share happiness and love with everyone around them.”

As we start a new year, you must have a lot of plans. Can you talk to us about them and what 2024 looks like for PRATTO?

“We are super excited for 2024. We have so many songs lined up to be released and a great rollout plan. We really want every release to have the attention it deserves. Playing in venues and performing just brings it all together. I’m really looking forward to playing these new releases and feeling the energy from the crowd. There is no bigger feeling than playing live and watching people light up. I love it!”

Although you have a lot already going on, what are some of your biggest goals that you’ve yet to check off?

“To continue collaborating with phenomenal artists, and bringing amazing musicians from all around the world together.”

Finally, what would you like to say to your fans and supporters?

“Find a way to hold on to the feelings you get when you hear a certain song. Share your vibe with the world and let music guide your way.”
