Rave Bucket List: 5 Amazing European Festivals to Experience Before You Die

Home Editorials Rave Bucket List: 5 Amazing European Festivals to Experience Before You Die

Going to a festival with rave music is one of the most exciting experiences you can get, especially as part of a group of friends who are determined to have a great time.

2024 is set to be a big year for dance event fans, with a kaleidoscope of huge festivals taking place across Europe. Every type of dance genre you can think of is covered, ranging from techno to drum and bass.

So, without further ado, let’s dive into to some of the best festival attractions around right now!

Tomorrowland

July 19-28, Boom, Belgium

Tomorrowland isn’t just a festival, but another world.

Set in the make-believe world of Silvrya, it gives you the chance to truly escape from the hassles of everyday life for several summer days in the Belgian countryside.

The 2024 edition is built upon the theme of “LIFE” and the line-up reflects the variety of life with acts spanning the full spectrum of dance music. Mind Against, Diplo and a DJ set from Disclosure are some of the headliners that leap at you from the line-up, but the festival is all about getting to know artists on smaller stages, too.

It’s on these smaller stages that you’ll really experience the different theme Tomorrowland has going on, one throwing you into a fantasy world, another a trippy immersive background.

Join thousands of other partygoers in Boom, just south of Antwerp, for an experience that could change your life.

UNTOLD Festival

August 8-11, Cluj-Napoca, Romania

UNTOLD may be located in a little-known part of Romania, but it’s managed to secure one of dance music’s biggest names as headliner.

Swedish House Mafia will rock up to Cluj-Napoca in August to play in front of thousands of 375,000 excited fans, who can look forward to one of the best lights and laser shows in the world that UNTOLD is famous for.

While it may be tricky finding flights to northern Romania, you may get lucky with online comparison sites that include everything from restaurant rating websites to lottery site comparators, and they may just find you a flight bargain.

Some leading sites include Skyscanner and Google Flights which do a great job of showcasing all your flight options on one page.

If you do manage to get there, then be prepared for one of the most underrated EDM experiences on the European calendar!

Sziget Festival

August 7-12, Óbudai-sziget, Hungary

Sziget takes over the center of Budapest for five glorious days in August and brings it with a galaxy of musical talent that has something for everyone.

There’s a huge party arena, an array of exciting stages, and even a techno music colosseum all dotted around the Sziget site.

In store for 2024 are superstars Sam Smith and One Direction’s Louis Tomlinson plus a range of indie and rock artists should you also like that kind of thing.

Sziget tends to get hot, so make sure you take enough suncream and headgear to keep you protected from those harmful rays, but in the meantime, you can count down the days toward one of Europe’s most exciting festivals!

Mysteryland

August 30 – September 1,  Floriade, The Netherlands

As the longest-running EDM festival in The Netherlands, Mysteryland knows a thing or two about putting on an awe-inspiring show for its crowds.

2024 will be the latest in a long history of awesome line-ups, with the likes of Franky Rizardo, Don Diablo, and Hot Since 82 gracing its stages. There are also 300-plus other artists taking part, so you’ll definitely not get bored.

Yet, as the festival name suggests, it’s best not to know too much about too many acts and go there with a fresh mind – that means you’ll discover a mystery artist or two to add to your personal playlist!

Dream Village 2024

September 9-10, Breda, The Netherlands

Dream Village gives you a choice: either opt for the ‘dark side’ of dance and the heavier beats that come with it or raise yourself up with some light dance tracks.

This gives us a unique opportunity to choose our own festival suited to our style. While the 2024 line-up is still a work in progress, last year’s edition brought us the likes of Afrojack, Sefa, and Frequencerz for one of the most fun festivals in Europe.

Keep your eyes peeled for Dream Village 2024 announcements as we head into a summer of raving and glo-sticks!
