Ahadadream and Skrillex unveil long-awaited ID ‘TAKA’ with Priya Ragu: Listen

“I really wanna thank Sonny for all the mentorship, guidance and support he’s given me over the last few years. I’ve been doing this for like 10 years but now I feel like I’m only just getting started,” says Ahadadream about Skrillex collaboration ‘TAKA.’

For fans of Ahadadream and Skrillex, this particular ID release is one that has been a long time coming. ‘TAKA’ is one of many explosive IDs from the vault of Skrillex, and for Ahadadream it truly was a dream come true. Joining forces via zoom during the pandemic, it began when the pair met in person in London, and when they got into the studio with Priya Ragu who provides infectious vocals, it all came together. ‘TAKA’ hasn’t only been teased by the two producers though, with Four Tet and Chris Lake notably adding fire to the excitement by playing it out during their sets for the last year and a bit. Now, the release day has finally beckoned.

‘TAKA’ had started building in the clubs thanks to Chris Lake and Four Tet already”, Ahadadream explains, “and then it went viral on my Boiler Room”. 

With Ahadadream’s native Pakistan background mixed with London sounds, it makes for one of the most unique concoctions to come from a track in recent times. Of course, Skrillex refines the track even further with his careful ear for intricately infectious melodies and genre-defying rhythm. All this with Priya Ragu’s hypnotic vocals, chopped up by the producers to create an earth-shattering drop, makes for the cherry on top of this musical cake.
