The king of trance has done it again. Like he flawlessly does every year at Ultra Miami, Armin van Buuren delivered another spectacular set on Sunday with a set compiled of mainly unreleased music.

Facing a similar fate as Hardwell, Armin van Buuren was stripped off of his b2b set with Oliver Heldens and his own set at the A State Of Trance hosting on Friday at the Worldwide stage at Ultra Miami. Luckily, the weather was perfect on Sunday and the “king of trance” has successfully played out one of his most refreshing mainstage sets to date. Even though he only played 1 of his 3 planned sets for the weekend, Armin channeled only the best of his energy. Couple that with 3 different and interesting guests and you get an all-time Ultra Miami mainstage set.

For the third year in a row, Armin van Buuren was slotted in the sunset slot of the day. Emphasis was heavy on original vocals, as Armin deviated away from mashups and instead played out the full/partial lenghts of his unreleased work. Some of his most notable IDs came in form of a HI-LO collab, as well as the potential club mix of his upcoming Oliver Heldens collab. His Hardwell collaboration swiftly elevated the energy of the mainstage, while upbeat fan-named IDs Dragon and Check Out made sure to maintain the same energy. His 3 guests were Artbat, (with who he played Take Off, their debut collaboration), Jon Bon Jovi (whose mega hit Keep The Faith was remixed by Armin), and Gryffin, who joined Armin for their recent song What Took You So Long. He finally transformed his outro into a drum-and-bass sensation as he played out the Dimension remix of Lose This Feeling and 1991 remix of Mason’s Perfect (Exceeder).

Armin van Buuren was a instant favorite for many people, including myself. With his expertly crafted IDs and carefully picked vocalists, Armin totally blew the expectations out of the water. He has been one of the most active set uploaders, recently uploading his Tomorrowland Winter mainstage and Crystal Garden sets alongside his Ultra Miami performance. You can relive his set on YouTube or as always down below.
