With over 26 years in the music industry, Gerçek Dorman has carved out a unique niche blending electronic music with cinematic, world-inspired sounds. Known for his work designing synthesizer sounds and writing books, Dorman’s love for pushing the limits of electronic music is unmatched.

His latest release, the track “Sandworm,” exemplifies Dorman’s cinematic approach. When asked about the inspiration behind “Sandworm,” Dorman explained, “The story has been very different from my previous works. While teaching a synthesizer class…I came up with an idea that I really liked…As soon as I got back to my studio, I started blending it with new sound designs using Synthmaster 3. Sandworm came together very quickly.”

Dorman draws heavy inspiration from film and visual arts for his musical creations. “It’s crucial that each of my songs has a story, with characters navigating through it, offering different textures, atmospheres, and expressive power,” he said. “Literature, cinema, visual and plastic arts profoundly nourish me.”

His cinematic flair is no surprise given Dorman’s decade-long role as product manager and sound designer at Kv331 Audio, makers of the acclaimed Synthmaster software. “A significant portion of my music career has revolved around Synthmaster,” Dorman noted. “While Sandworm stands out as the most cinematic among my tracks, you’ll find this sensation in all of my songs.”

Dorman cited iconic film composers like Vangelis, Maurice Jarre, and Hans Zimmer as major influences. The “Sandworm” title nods to the classic sci-fi film Dune, though Dorman plans to explore his own “spiritual world” through a series of six cinematic electronic songs.

As for the future, Dorman has an incredibly busy 2024 ahead through his label Gead Sound, his Synthmaster work, and an array of new releases and live performances. “We’ll be releasing the beta version of Synthmaster 3 at the end of April, and the real excitement will begin then,” he teased. “I highly recommend reserving your seats because a powerful synthesizer is coming your way.”
