Home News Martin Garrix & JBL bring back their music academy

The return of the JBL & Martin Garrix Music Academy is now official and marks the commencement of applications for music artists worldwide as of today. After its successful debut in 2023, the Music Academy persists in its mission to empower emerging artists, inviting the class of 2024 to participate in its exclusive three-day program at Amsterdam-based STMPD Studios this November.

Empowering Emerging Artists

While talent serves as the foundation for an artist, access to knowledge, inspiration, connections, and support are equally indispensable for success in the music industry. This is precisely where the Music Academy steps in, extending an invitation to 30 promising musicians, songwriters, singers, and producers to partake in workshops led by industry experts and forge connections with fellow artists.

Insightful Workshops and Mentorship

These workshops, facilitated by eminent figures in the music industry, including Martin Garrix himself, will concentrate on music creation, branding, and business. The Music Academy furnishes artists with invaluable insights into diverse facets of the music industry, equipping them with the necessary tools for success.

Continued Support from JBL

JBL has also extended support to numerous alumni from the Class of 2023, providing opportunities to showcase their music and represent JBL at various events and festivals such as the Montreux Jazz Festival and the JBL Snow Party, among others.

Expressing his enthusiasm for the Music Academy’s return, JBL Global Brand Ambassador Martin Garrix remarked, “I’m super excited we’re doing a second edition of the Music Academy with JBL this year. Meeting all the talented artists last year and seeing their creativity and passion through the experience was inspiring. With STMPD RCRDS, we’re already focusing a lot on upcoming talent, so the Music Academy feels like the perfect addition.”

Commitment to Empowering Talent

Robert Jan van Dormael, Vice President Marketing for Lifestyle Division EMEA and India at JBL, emphasized, “At JBL, music is at the core of everything we do. When we launched the Music Academy last year, the goal was to provide a platform to empower talent with the knowledge they need to turn their passion for music into a career. We are excited to build on that success this year.”

Application Process

Artists interested in participating can apply by submitting a motivational video and up to three music tracks that best encapsulate their personal sound. Applications for the JBL & Martin Garrix Music Academy are now open worldwide until April 30, 2024.
