Despite all the bad weather and rain, Nicky Romero brought back the Progressive House vibe full of energetic music to Ultra Miami 2024

Ultra Miami Festival is undoubtedly one of the most anticipated events in electronic music. As mentioned earlier, the 2024 edition that took place last weekend was rocked by very bad weather conditions. As a result, several DJ shows were postponed or rescheduled on the first day, for example, Hardwell was rescheduled for the second day. Before the full cancellation, despite the rain, Nicky Romero brought back some Progressive House for fans of the genre, as his show was not postponed on Friday.

Nicky Romero is the festival’s returning DJ and almost, one of the faces of the festival. No question about it, since festivalgoers love his performances, thanks to his uplifting & melodic selection of music. A very good example of the latter can be seen in his set this year, “I Don’t Need Your Love”, recently released on Protocol Recordings, a collaboration between NORII & MYDN. He performed this song in an Ultra Edit, a mashup with London Grammar’s smash hit “Hey Now”, and the audience enjoyed it immensely.

Nicky also brought along many of his own tracks, such as “All Night Long”, “Give In”, and “Bad Boy” which he produced with Third ≡ Party. Speaking of Third ≡ Party, the DJ’s set included Martin Garrix & Third ≡ Party’s recently released but already up-and-coming track “Carry You”, featuring vocals by Oaks & Declan J Donovan. And of course, he added plenty of ID to this great set. There was no shortage of classics, such as “Warriors” from Nicky Romero & Volt & State’s former collaboration, and “Like Home” with the NERVO girls. And last but not least, as the closing track of the almost hour-long performance, “I Could Be The One”, which is almost expected by Nicky’s fans, but is also a great tribute from Nicky Romero to Avicii.

The full tracklist for Nicky Romero’s 2024 Ultra Miami set is now available, numbered, and timestamped.
