Following the release of their massive third album, World War Joy, The Chainsmokers took some time to themselves before releasing more music. Since their return in 2022, the duo have been as relentless with their releases as ever while showing a hardened edge to their infectious anthems.

Ever since Closer took over the mainstream airwaves, The Chainsmokers have dominated the electronic music landscape, blending their deeply emotional lyrics with upbeat house productions that have seen them headline festivals and sell-out stadiums. In more recent times, the duo of Alex Pall and Drew Taggart have found a slightly darker edge to their works, exploring the same themes and styles of their past music, but looking to expand their sound. The release of Addicted is their first offering since they collected their 2023 singles into their latest album, Summertime Friends.

For Addicted, the duo joined up with Zerb, whose clout has risen significantly since the success of Mwaki. The single stemmed from a serendipitous Los Angeles studio session, allowing the two parties to build a track that is dark and haunting yet built for the radio and clubs around the world. With Ink delivering the infectious timeline, the singer opens with the brazen line, ‘Ima hit the club, throw it, throw it, throw it back When I look this good I just want to be bad.’ Full of bravado and intrigue, the energy bursts through the speakers with every line, perfectly matching the production behind it.

A new era begins for The Chainsmokers with the release of Addicted. Check out the new single below.
