The severe weather woes at Ultra Music Festival continued into Day 2, with the festival announcing the first cancellation before the gates even opened in Miami. Swiss DJ/producer EDX was due to perform midday, but that set has now been scrapped due to ongoing storm threats.

As heavy rain and thunderstorms lingered over the Bayfront Park grounds Saturday morning, Ultra organizers were forced to make tough decisions about the daily schedule. With unsafe conditions and water patches persisting, EDX’s performance in the noon time slot was officially axed.

However, in a small bright spot for fans, EDX’s other show with We Rave You x Bootshaus at an indoor venue, the La Otra will go as scheduled.

“I’m truly sorry to hear that today’s performance at the Ultra Music Festival had to be canceled due to change of hours because of severe weather in South Florida.”

EDX’s Ultra cancellation was likely just the first domino to fall on Day 2 as forecasts showed more dangerous storms continuing to roll through the area into the afternoon hours. High winds, heavy rain, and even isolated tornado threats were all in the mix.

At least EDX fans in Miami have the NoXcuses show to look forward to later today. He joins a growing list of Ultra refugees like Hardwell also getting added to various make-up events across the city.
