Ableton announces “Omni Live” – World’s First Fully Autonomous AI DAW

In a move that is sure to disrupt the world of music production, Ableton has unveiled Omni Live – a revolutionary new digital audio workstation that leverages advanced artificial intelligence to compose, arrange, and mix complete songs entirely on its own with zero human input required.

You can load an acapella vocal sample and have Omni Live build a totally cohesive backing track around it in any genre you specify – ambient downtempo, progressive metal, acid house, you name it.

A key breakthrough is Omni Live’s advanced lyrics engine that can generate thematically consistent vocal lyrics and even simulate virtual vocal performances utilizing audio sample inputs or synthesized vocals. The DAW also handles all mixing duties through what Ableton calls “Turing-level audio processing.” Omni Live’s AI applies dynamic EQ, compression, reverb, levels balancing, and thousands of other real-time adjustments across every instrument and element to sculpt a final polished, broadcast-ready master.

Omni Live launches in Q4 2024 as part of the upcoming Ableton Live Suite. Of course, this “revolutionary” AI-powered autonomous music production software from Ableton was simply an elaborate April Fools’ Day prank and not an actual product release.
