Don Diablo drops new single ‘Beast Mode (Knock You Out)’: Listen

Dutch DJ and producer Don Diablo is renowned for his house anthems and hard-hitting live sets. Now he borrows from one of the most respected icons in music and television for his latest banger.

Don Diablo has spent the first few months of 2024 relentlessly releasing new music to add to his already incredible resume of hits. Following up on his previous single, the bouncy and hypnotic single Monster alongside Felix Jaehn, he returns with a heavy-hitting club track with a little help from one of the most iconic lines in hip-hop history. The track opens with the unmistakable force of the one and only LL Cool J and his infamous boast, “Don’t call it a comeback!’ The sample from his 1990 hit track Mama Said Knock You Out serves as the centerpiece for Don Diablo’s newest production.

While the power of LL Cool J goes without saying, Don Diablo utilizes the sample well, layering it throughout a foundation of synths, percussion, bass, and hypnotic leads. He chops up the vocal, letting it drive the track for a time before the massive bass and thumping percussion take over in the drop. This isn’t a comeback at all but a not-so-subtle reminder of the production prowess that Diablo possesses.

While relying on classic samples or rerecorded hits has become the norm for the electronic music scene, Don Diablo uses the concept but delivers fresh energy for Beast Mode (Knock You Out). Listen to the new single below!
