Jamie xx shares new single ‘Baddy On The Floor’ featuring Honey Dijon: Listen
Jamie xx makes a triumphant return with his latest single, “Baddy On The Floor,” featuring the celebrated Honey Dijon, renowned DJ, producer, and fashion luminary. The track, released under the Young label, made its debut on Radio 1’s Future Artists with Jack Saunders.
Originally showcased during Jamie xx’s electrifying performance at All Points East in 2021, this collaboration marks the inception of a dynamic partnership between the globally dispersed artists, forged during the constraints of the pandemic through virtual collaborations.
The genesis of “Baddy On The Floor” traces back to mutual admiration, with Honey Dijon having shared festival stages with Jamie xx previously, notably at The xx’s Night + Day festival in Bilbao in 2018 and more recently at Jamie xx’s curated Manchester Warehouse Project in 2021.
After his recent appearance at Coachella, Jamie xx will grace stages at Glastonbury, Pitchfork Music Festival, and HARD Summer, heralding the dawn of a new chapter in his musical journey. In a candid conversation with Jack Saunders, Jamie xx divulged that he is meticulously putting the final touches on his forthcoming album, slated for release later this year.
“Baddy On The Floor” joins a repertoire of standalone releases, including the acclaimed “idontknow” in 2020, as well as “LET’S DO IT AGAIN” and “KILL DEM” in 2022, along with the recent sensation, “It’s So Good.” Throughout this creative process, Jamie xx has engaged his global fanbase, teasing snippets of his eagerly awaited sophomore album during live performances since 2018, with the momentum carrying through to the present day.
