John Summit returned to Coachella 2024 and closed out the Sahara Tent on Sunday night in superstar fashion.

There is no question that John Summit has been at the forefront of dance music for the last few years. Attracting an entirely new audience to the house genre, his persona has created a path for the root sound of the industry to be spotlighted amongst the most popular genres in music. With his larger-than-life personality, hugely popular songs and a live show unlike anybody else, it was a no-brainer that John Summit would be the perfect candidate to close out the Sahara Tent for Coachella 2024.

After already playing one set during the weekend with Dom Dolla as their side project, Everything Always, Summit had the honor of being the headliner on one of Coachella’s most coveted stages, the Sahara Tent. Returning to the desert for the first time since 2022, Summit’s brand has risen exponentially since his last time at Coachella. He is now regarded as one of the faces of the modern wave of house music and attracts one of the biggest crowds in all of music. So it was only fitting that he was the one who succeeded an all-time classic DJ Snake set and finished off Coachella 2024 in style.

The stage production was out of this world. Summit was placed high above the crowd on a square platform with lightbars that were around its perimeter. Beneath him sat a plethora of lights on the stage that were outlined in the same square pattern as the platform. Summit wasted no time as he opened with a VIP mix of his biggest original track, ‘Where You Are.’ He then introduced several IDs, including one with Subtronics and Tape B and another with Sub Focus. Summit played other hits such as ‘La Danza,’ his newest track ‘EAT THE BASS,’ ‘Give Me Anything’ and ‘Legacy.’ Summit then closed the show with a guest appearance from Hayla as they sang their collaboration and one of the biggest songs of the year so far, ‘Shiver,’ and then lastly played his 2021 classic ‘Better Than This’ as Coachella 2024 came to an end.

John Summit’s stardom was on full display at the Sahara Tent as he put a period on the chapter that was Coachella 2024. He was a worthy headliner who showed why he is currently one of the most in-demand artists. As the lyrics of his closing track said, it could not get any better than that.
