Alesso impresses with long-anticipated ‘Hypnotize’ EP: Listen

Home Featured Alesso impresses with long-anticipated ‘Hypnotize’ EP: Listen

After almost 2 years of waiting for Alesso to finally drop his most-anticipated track in ages, the Swede delivered even more. Alongside the title track Hypnotize, Alesso added 2 more tracks, including the already released Zig Zag and The Rhythm Of The Night, all but to announce his new label in banging style.

Finally. It has been long in the oven, but the Hypnotize EP is finally laid at our feet. Alesso waited 5 months to finally drop his first project of the year, and boy did he not disappoint. Not just that. The Swede has also presented his brand-new label Body Hi which is also the name of his fresh new show concept, one which he premiered at this year’s monumental edition of Coachella. The Hypnotize EP consists of three tracks: Hypnotize, Zig Zag, and The Rhythm Of The Night.

We’ve already talked about Zig Zag in one of our previous posts so let’s shine some light on other tracks of the Hypnotize EP. Hypnotize, alongside Look Inside Our Hearts with Martin Garrix, was Alesso’s most-anticipated track in ages. Alesso was constantly bombarded on social media with questions about the release of it but the pressure on him was futile as he waited for the right moment to premiere Body Hi first. Hypnotize showcases the electro side of Alesso flawlessly, incorporating fiery vocals and expert sound design. Rhythm Of The Night, on the other hand, was originally meant to be a VIP mix of Alesso’s collaboration with Ty Dolla $ign, Caught A Body. Instead, he transformed his Ultra Miami 2023 intro into a rework of Corona’s Rhythm Of The Night. It is by far the most melodic track on the EP, containing traces of Alesso’s progressive house craftmanship.

It is evident that the new Body Hi label and concept are a successor to Alesso’s Eclipse concept he used a couple of years ago to showcase his house and electro side. While being his more underrated musical side (inferior to his progressive signature sound), his darker side holds a sprinkle of mystique and intrigue. Alesso is most definitely a jack of all trades, scoring pop hits, bringing out emotions with his melodic side, and making you dance your socks off with his house side. Hypnotize EP is living proof of the latter statement. You can listen to the EP down below or on your favorite streaming platform. Extended mixes are available on Beatport.
