Home News Club Space is set to close for renovations over the summer

The summer club scene in Miami, FL is set to look a bit different in 2024 as one of its most iconic locations will shut its doors for renovations. With new construction occurring surrounding the building, Club Space will need to close its doors at the beginning of June to do its own updates.

Those living in and around the Miami area know that major construction projects have been an ongoing theme in recent years as new developers look to continue to gentrify and build up the area. The land surrounding the iconic Club Space has shifted drastically as two 65-story towers have been erected on the east and west sides of the club, with a connecting walkway created for patrons to easily travel been both buildings. This has rendered several of Club Miami’s fire exits obsolete and in order to continue to operate, will need to make renovations to keep up with building codes of the city.

Discussing the necessary construction, co-owners Coloma Kaboomsky, David Sinopoli, and Davide Danese revealed that the iconic stairway that connects the Terrace to the ground floor exits will be demolished, with a new stairway built on the north side of the building. Before shutting down, there will be two more massive weekends of music to celebrate the club, with four-day events occurring back-to-back weekends. From May 23rd through the 26th, and then again from the 30th until June 2nd, will see a marathon of entertainment from the likes of Honey Dijon, Sister System, Ms. Mada, Floorplan, and more.

During the closure, many events will move to the club’s sister spot, the open-air venue, Factory Town. Also, as Club Space prepares to celebrate its 25th anniversary in March of next year, it will use the downtime to feature a variety of iconic sets and mixes from its history via SoundCloud and YouTube. Beyond that, the team hopes to see Club Space reopen sometime in the fall, but no official dates have been mentioned at this time.
