Taking to social media, and a reddit thread to be precise, an EDC Las Vegas attendee shares the harrowing sexual assault incident that they faced whilst at the music festival this past weekend.

With electronic music festivals prime aim to unite people through their common love of music, it is incident(s) of such nature that create a stigma around our community, and with immoral and harrowing actions such as sexual assault still taking place at major events worldwide, it becomes more apparent of further drastic measures needed to put in place, so such incidents are avoided at all costs.

Sharing their story through a thread on Reddit, an EDC Las Vegas attendee was sexually assaulted this past weekend, whilst bystanders did not react until the attendee took the matter in their own hands. Enjoying the event to the fullest, the attendee was approached by a fellow raver, and although the initial interaction was in the realms of normality of two strangers meeting for the first time; things took a twist towards the worst, and with close contact made at festivals due to the large number(s) of people in one space, it quickly escalated and became more than that, as the attendee felt the strangers hand under their vest, and their breast being massaged.

Immediately the attendee confronted the stranger for their actions and made it quite clear that that was completely inappropriate, with the stranger then apologising and making it look like nothing major had just occurred. With minimal reaction to the incident, the stranger remained at close proximity, and when trying to reach for the attendee once again, matters would be taken in their own hands, as the attendee used physical force on the stranger in order to stand their ground, and show that they would not tolerate such behaviour. This then caught the attention of the bystanders, making for the case of double standards, and how people did not react to the initial sexual assault, but then became vocal when the attendee stood up for themselves.
