Hot Since 82 states he was almost kidnapped in Rio de Janeiro

“If it wasn’t for the heroic manoeuvres of our driver I don’t know if we would be alive right now,” said Hot Since 82 of the harrowing situation.

During a current trip to Rio, Hot Since 82 got into a terrifying situation, where after leaving the club of his set he was involved in an attempted kidnapping. Understandably leaving him shaken, the DJ took to Instagram to share the story in depth, which has left him questioning if he will ever return to Brazil, also cancelling his appearances at Time Warp and Warung.

“Left the club at 5am, still dark, ten minutes into the car journey to the airport we have been followed and pursued by a gang of jackers, murderers, I don’t know what they are, wearing AK47s.”

The supposed targeted attack caused their driver to make dangerous maneuvers to attempt to lose the criminals, racing down the motorway in the opposite direction at 70mph into oncoming traffic.

“If the AK47s didn’t get us then we are really lucky we didn’t have a really bad car crash, because we are weaving in and out of oncoming traffic going 60-70 mph with the car full of AK47s following us. They were adamant they were going to get us.“

Later going on to say he’s “broken inside,” he made the choice to get the next possible flight out of the country to return to his wife and children, stating that it has also lead him to question his faith in humanity, ending his story by saying “I can’t risk being in a position like this. It’s not worth it.”
