My goal is to always try to create something
new and genuine
,” says Plasmatique of her signature sound.

With the signature sound she’s created, Plasmatique took on a different approach with her newest track ‘Tuvan‘ by incorporating elements of Tuvan throat singing. Not something usually found within a melodic techno track, she’s pushing boundaries whilst carving her identity in the melodic techno world. To get more information on this dynamic track and to see what’s next for Plasmatique, we sat down for a talk.

Congratulations on the release of your newest single ‘Tuvan’. The track incorporates many unique elements like Tuvan throat singing. Can you tell us the inspiration for including this?

“Thanks for having me. My goal is to always try to create something new and genuine. I had an idea in my head to combine two different genres and after a while of searching I discovered these vocals that fit exactly into my plan and caught my attention.”

Were there any challenges with making Tuvan throat singing fit in with the world of melodic techno? What was the creative process like?

“I started with a different more pad like throat singing but I wanted something more rhythmic and with more drive, so I combined different samples that ended up in my track. All in all the track came together from first idea to final master quite fast.”

What was it that drew you to the world of melodic techno originally?

“I’ve always enjoyed electronic music, and creating melodic techno is a golden middle path for me. Coming original from a more trance driven background melodic techno is giving me the same feelings like trance did.”

Why did you decide to pursue music as a career?

“Music has always been important to me and my dream was to become a DJ, but it wasn’t until I met Thomas Helmich that my dream started to become a reality. First, we worked together in the studio on different genres of music. After the pandemic, when everything started to revive, I also wanted to contribute something positive for people. Transferring my joy from music to people.”

To those who may not know you, how would you describe Plasmatique?

“Fascinating, exciting, the opposite end of the commercial, generic. Melodic lines and diffuse textures, epic and anthemic pursuing a spiritual, almost ascetic expression. Trance-filled pads and synths pulsating arpeggios and baselines.”

What are some of your biggest goals within your career?

“I would like to play for as many people as possible, bring a good mood and desire to dance to my music, forget about difficulties and enjoy the present moment.”

What’s coming soon for Plasmatique?

“A remix for Airbas is coming up on Natura Viva and a single following on the same imprint. I also contributed for “Dance with Robots” on HARTHOUSE. I’m constantly working on new tracks and I have a vacation planned in July and then after that, I’ll hit the stages.”
