Charlotte de Witte took over the streets of New York City this past weekend with a pop-up DJ set that attracted hundreds and shut down the area.

Charlotte de Witte has cemented herself on top-of-the-mountain in the techno genre. Her live shows are some of the most sought-after and talked about moments currently in the industry. With that, de Witte has become one of the best at putting on shows in interesting locations, and she did that again this weekend. As she kicked off her weekend-long New York City takeover, she first made headlines as she hosted a guerilla-style pop-up DJ set that shut down the streets of NYC.

For the second consecutive year, de Witte shut down Orchard Street as hundreds of techno fans came out to witness her brilliance. Performing an hour-long set, hundreds of locals surrounded de Witte in front of EXTRA BUTTER as she played in the round with her booth positioned directly in the middle of the street. The highlights of the show came when de Witte played her title track for her new EP ‘Roar,’ and then followed it up by playing her next single off the same EP, ‘How You Move.’ She then even played through a few IDs from other artists. Charlotte de Witte had the energy pulsing through the streets with an incredible crowd that was locked in with her through every track.

The show was just the start of another fantastic NYC takeover as she followed up the Orchard Street performance by hosting a massive KNTXT show on Saturday at Brooklyn Storehouse, making her one of the first headliners in the venue.

For those who were not able to attend the Orchard Street performance in NYC, you can watch the entire set below, thanks to Beatport and Ray-Ban. Listen to the newest single by Charlotte de Witte on the Roar EP, ‘How You Move,’ here.
