Criminal attacks and accidents involving DJs are not rare occurrences in the music industry by any means. In a similar incident that occurred recently in Gwarimpa, Abuja, a local DJ was shot dead by robbers who were in the middle of a hit at the Volcano Peak Court Hotel. The victim was identified as Bashir Dauda.

“The victim was quickly rushed to the Federal Medical Centre, Jabi where doctors on duty confirmed him dead. The corpse was released on the request of the family to be buried according to Islamic rites. Investigation is still ongoing in a bid to apprehend the culprits while further developments will be communicated in due course.” – Josephine Adeh (FCT Police Command Public Relations Officer)

Some of the previous such incidents include DJ Afrojack’s Assault (2013). Afrojack, the prominent Dutch DJ and record producer, was assaulted and robbed in his hotel room in Las Vegas. The attackers reportedly stole jewelry and other valuables. Moreover, in 2018, DJ Khaled‘s tour bus was reportedly robbed while he was performing at a concert in New Jersey. The thieves stole jewelry, watches, and other valuables amounting to hundreds of thousands of dollars.
