Henry Moores, a United Kingdom native from Macclesfield walked from Manchester to Ibiza, raising a staggering $160,000 for charity as a result.

Back in February, Henry Moores, a 21-year-old United Kingdom native situated in Macclesfield set himself an enormous goal. He pledged that he would walk from Manchester to Ibiza entirely on foot, trekking 1,400 miles in the process. Supported by Wayne Lineker, who is the owner of Ocean Beach Ibiza, the youngster started his journey on March 2nd. Exactly 66 days later, Henry successfully reached his destination and was greeted by Wayne Lineker and a crowd of supporters. Raising an unbelievable $160,000, Henry exceeded his initial goal of $20,000. The money will be donated to the Tony Hudgell Foundation, a charity that provides support to children who have been abused physically, psychologically, or emotionally.

Henry Moores’ journey started with a 315-mile trek from Manchester to Portsmouth. Afterward, he took a ferry to France, precisely to Caen before embarking on the most physically challenging route of the trip. Journeying 1,130 miles from Caen to Delia in Spain, Henry took a ferry to Ibiza as he prepared for his final miles on foot. For those final steps, he was joined by Tony Hudgell himself, who started the Tony Hudgell Foundation back in 2020. Henry’s unwavering dedication to the cause was portrayed by the fact that he only rested for 2 days.

In an interview with Euro News, Henry Moores said:

“I’m a very charitable person. I’ve always wanted to do something massive, something maybe a bit stupid and to catch the attention of people’s eyes. And I’ve always flirted with the idea of walking to Spain.”

This incredible feat marks Henry Moores’ second impactful walk for a good cause. In October of 2023, he walked from Macclesfield to Paris, raising a respectable amount of $20,000. With that money, Christmas meals and gifts, rent money, school supplies, and more were provided for the less fortunate in Cheshire and Greater Manchester, United Kingdom.
