Home Uncategorized Daft Punk’s ‘Alive 2017’ tour rumors resurface around puzzling video

Throughout their legendary career, Daft Punk have only toured twice in 1997 and 2007. Considering that another ten years have passed, rumors about the French duo’s potential return have heavily been circling around.

Recently, conversations about Daft Punk’s possible tour sparked even more with a puzzling YouTube video uploaded by an account under the name ‘4162016211411’. Titled “Alive 2017”, the 50-second clip shows a particular visual that coincides with Daft Punk’s style of stage production and lighting. The video concludes with Daft Punk’s logo popping up on the screen.

Along with the clip, another mysterious element that has had fans buzzing is the series of random, eight-digit numbers written down as the description. Several people were able to crack the codes, including a “YouTuber” named Justin Stevens who unveiled the numbers to have corresponded with city names such as Paris, New York City, and London. In addition, the username of the account that uploaded the video seemed to have matched with “Daft Punk”.

By any means, this video does not legitimately prove Daft Punk’s return to touring this year. However, it still gives die-hard fans the hope that the legendary electronic music pioneers would take center stage once again. Therefore, all we can do is wait for an official announcement from Daft Punk’s team.

Check out the 50-second clip below.
