Fans of British trance trio Above & Beyond had already marked November 3rd on their calendars, ever since word came out that this would be the date for yet another release of a new single from the group’s forthcoming album ‘Common Ground’. Today the wait is over, as “Northern Soul” – the third single of Above & Beyond’s brand new album – sees daylight. The progressive trance anthem features vocals that trance fans unmistakably recognize immediately as the voice of UK singer Richard Bedford, who Above & Beyond have collaborated with so successfully on several occasions in the past.
“Northern Soul” succeeds the previous two singles of ‘Common Ground’, being “Tightrope” featuring Marty Longstaff and “My Own Hymn” featuring Zoë Johnston. The third single debuted as an ID when Above & Beyond celebrated the 250th edition of their Group Therapy radio show, on September 16 and 17 at The Gorge Amphitheatre in Washington State, US. During this amazing set, “Northern Soul” showed once again how well Richard Bedford’s characteristic voice suits the emotional trance productions of Above & Beyond, as fans already learned when “Sun & Moon” and “Thing Called Love” topped the charts in 2011.
On December 29, Above & Beyond will kick off their massive North American tour in support of ‘Common Ground’. The trailer in which the tour was announced also played “Northern Soul”, which immediately led to an abundance of positive reactions amongst fans. Meanwhile, the pre-sale for tour tickets has started last week, so if you want to see Above & Beyond perform their new single live, you should check out tour dates and locations here. Until then you can stream “Northern Soul” already down here. The entire album is set for release on January 26, 2018.
