Following months of hype and speculation, Dutch superstar Martin Garrix has finally released his collaboration with close friends Brooks and David Guetta; ‘Like I Do‘. While Garrix has collaborated with both artists separately on a number of songs, his latest collaboration marks the first between the three producers.
The track begins in signature Brooks fashion, with a vocoded vocal, backed by warm, low-passed lead synths. Claps and subtle hats are eventually added before the build-up arrives, transitioning to the drop. The drop boasts a Martin Garrix style melody structure with Brooks’ distinct sound design and mid-melody pauses. The second break follows a similar recipe to the first, however, a large Big Room-esque breakdown is added before the second build-up.
‘Like I Do’ has Martin Garrix and Brooks’ handwriting all over it, however, the dynamic duo have worked their magic together before. The two have produced mainstage hits such as ‘Boomerang‘ and ‘Byte‘ and reportedly have an unreleased song, titled ‘Pirates‘. While Garrix and Brooks have stuck to 128 bpm, Garrix chose to slow things down with Guetta, as they ventured into the world of Future Bass with their track ‘So Far Away‘.
