Armada celebrates Orjan Nilsen’s illustrious career with ’10 Years Of Orjan Nilsen’ EP

Norway’s Electronic Music’s vanguard representative Orjan Nilsen has quite a career, be it from the production desk or live from the console – his music has never seem to leave a bad taste in the mouth of Trance fans around the world. And it’s been 10 years at it for the other ‘babyfaced-assasin’ from Norway since releasing his first single ‘Arctic Globe/Prison Break’ double on the now shut down Intuition Records in the June of 2006. And since then there has been no looking back for him. With chart riding hits like ‘La Guitarra‘, ‘Viking‘, ‘The Thunder‘ and ‘Burana‘ – a personal favorite – the Norwegian has undoubtedly shaped the present Trance scene as it exists.

And now to celebrate such an illustrious career from one of the most revered artist of the day, who gave us albums like ‘In My Opinion‘ and ‘No Saint Out Of Me‘, Armada has released the first part of the ’10 Years of Orjan Nilsen’ EP. On the remix duties for his all time hits are rising artists such as the Dutch David Gravell & Colombian KhoMha along with the DRYM duo. The remixes are a more hard-hitting modernization of the originals, with KhoMha doing an exceptional job with ‘Endymion‘ and  the DRYM duo working their magic on the ‘Red Woods‘, the track which was the first connection between Orjan’s journey with Armada. But pipping the others by a margin is David Gravell’s rework of ‘Amsterdam‘. Nevertheless, the EP does best what it is supposed to – it celebrates the musical joy that Orjan Nilsen has brought to all of us.
