The London-based duo of Kye Gibbon and Matt Robson-Scott are looking back at a very busy and successful summer, with their massive collaboration “Real Life” with Duke Dumont as one of the absolute highlights. But the year is far from over for Gorgon City as the duo have just revealed another milestone in their stellar career with the launch of their own record label named REALM.
To bring the brand new label to life Kye and Matt at the same time treat their fans to their latest powerful club tune titled “Primal Call”. Gorgon City explains further:
“We’ve been planning to launch our imprint for a long time and it now feels like the perfect time to release ‘Primal Call’, after getting great reactions over the summer. We wanted the debut to be a new track from us, to set the vibe of what’s to come on the label. We can’t wait to release more great music on REALM, so watch this space!”
“Primal Call” is definitely less house-like than the recent collaboration with Duke Dumont was, making it even more appropriate for clubs and dance floors. The driving bass-lines and somewhat mysterious vocal cuts give the track a nice techno/minimal feel, which is quite refreshing. The tune is destined to be in the mix for a club banger on many international dance floors this autumn.
With the new record label now in place, the duo’s popular weekly radio show KINGDOM will be a great way to expose fans to new sounds and tunes, that might be up for future release on REALM. Gorgon City is currently in the midst of their 22-date KINGDOM tour across the UK and North America, including a Brooklyn Warehouse party and two nights at the renowned Exchange club in Los Angeles.
