Swedish House Mafia’s jaw-dropping return has been the most highly touted topic of discussion since the inception of EDM itself. Millions of fans saw the iconic trio reunite where their journey ended 5 years ago – Ultra Music Festival Miami. Dazzling lights, extravagant pyrotechnics and a mesmerising stage all combined to create a truly unforgettable experience for fans and DJ’s alike.

Beginning with a mysterious 2 1/2 minute-long intro, the seemingly never-ending introduction eventually transitioned into ‘Miami 2 Ibiza‘ – an apt song choice. Much like the vast majority of the songs, ‘Miami 2 Ibiza’ was a triumphant mashup. The boys delivered a healthy mix of timeless festival anthems and new-age material, much to the crowd’s delight. Classic records such as ‘We Came, We Rave, We Love‘ and ‘Leave The World Behind‘ were seamlessly combined with new ID‘s, intelligently delivering an overwhelming sense of nostalgia with a hint of curiosity.

While songs such as ‘Save The World‘, ‘Reload‘, ‘In My Mind‘ and ‘Don’t You Worry Child‘ struck a chord with the fans and received a great reception, the trio continued to tease new music as they played a number of Steve Angello ID’s. While the songs are yet to be identified, they’re presumably from his upcoming album, which is now available for pre-order.

Known for playing songs fans love to sing along to, the Swedes dropped paradigmatic acapellas such as the Temper Trap‘s ‘Sweet Disposition‘, ‘One (Your Name)‘, ‘Reload‘ and ‘More Than You Know‘, once again, proving why Swedish House Mafia is the most quintessential EDM act of all time.
