The sun is shining, summer is coming, and The Chainsmokers have a brand new single! Titled ‘Somebody’, the track marks The Chainsmokers’ fourth release since last year’s ‘Memories…Do Not Open’ album.
Released today (Fri 20th April), The Chainsmokers’ singer Drew Taggart takes the helm, teaming up with Drew Love, lacing the production with a much more sombre and melancholic tone than their previous EDM bangers and summer party hits. ‘Somebody’ marks the pair’s 4th release since last year’s album release, and follows ‘Sick Boy’, ‘You Owe Me’ and ‘Everybody Hates Me.’
Marking a stark shift in their musical style, the latest Chainsmokers track is sure to prove a sure-fire hit at chilled afterparties, or for those looking to soundtrack a period of contemplation. You can hear the release below and let us know your thoughts in the comments below.
Are you a fan of this new down-tempo style from one of the biggest EDM acts in the world? Or would you prefer they were still trying to take a ‘SELFIE‘ with vibrant bass-lines and infectious hooks? This one is sure to cause a big debate in the dance music community.
